Matcha cold foam is one of those little upgrades that makes any drink feel special. Light, creamy, and gently earthy, it pairs beautifully with so many bases. Spoon it over cold milk like chocolate, strawberry, or coconut, layer it on top of iced coffee or espresso, make it citrusy with some lemonade, or float it over another tea like peppermint or raspberry for a fun twist. You can even whip it a little thicker and use it as a dip for fresh strawberries.

This recipe starts with Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Foam — a simple base that’s endlessly customizable. Once you’ve got that foundation, you can add just about anything to match whatever flavor you’re craving. In this case, a little matcha powder transforms it into a smooth, vibrant topping with a calm caffeine boost.

- INGREDIENTS:
- 3 pumps of vanilla syrup or 1.5 tbsp
- 6 tbsp heavy cream
- 3 tbsp milk or any milk you love
- 1 scoop matcha powder or 2 scoops for a stronger flavor
- INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pump vanilla in a cup.
- Pour in heavy cream.
- Add milk.
- Scoop in your matcha.
- Froth with a handheld frother until creamy, fluffy, or smooth.

- HELPFUL TIPS:
- Add a scoop of ceremonial matcha for a richer green color and flavor! Ceremonial has a light mint aroma, and is visually more appealing. Budget wise, i stick to Culinary.
- It doesn’t matter what order you add the wet ingredients.
- Use any syrup you want, maybe a sugar free peppermint.
- You don’t need to add milk. Just be careful not to froth your heavy cream too long, or else it will turn into a matcha mousse. Unless that’s what you’re going for 😉
- Typically, i don’t measure the heavy cream or milk. I just pour in heavy cream, knowing it will double in size once frothed. Then add a splash of milk.
- Out of heavy cream and milk? Well i hope you have half n half! That stuff froths up great! Maybe a little too bubbly, but it works, and i love me some microbubbles.
This matcha cold foam can be enjoyed with strawberries, pretzels, chocolates, ice cream, and on any drink you can think of! Just envision all of the desserts that could use a scoop of matcha… oh don’t even get me started.
